We’re finalists for the Wellington Airport Community Awards

We’re proud to share that Porirua Whānau Centre has been named a finalist in the Wellington Airport Community Awards.

The awards recognise organisations doing meaningful work in our communities.

Being named a finalist is a reflection of what this whānau has built together. Every programme we run, every family we walk alongside, every tamariki we see grow.

That's what this recognition is really about.

The Wellington Airport Community Awards celebrate the people and organisations that make Wellington a better place to live. Finalists are drawn from across the region, and the competition is strong. Getting this far is something to be proud of.

For us, it's also a chance to tell a wider story about what's happening in Porirua and Cannons Creek. The work we do doesn't always make headlines, but it matters. Moments like this help more people understand why.

Liz Kelly, our CEO, says the nomination is a reflection of the whole team. "This is for our kaimahi, our whānau, and the community that shows up for us every day. We don't do this for recognition, but it means a lot when the work gets seen."

The awards ceremony is coming up. Only finalists attend on the night, but we'll share the result with you as soon as we know.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who has been part of this journey. This one belongs to all of us.
